Who charges the GCash fee on a casino deposit: the bank, the wallet, or the casino itself?

GCash's own fee schedule and a July 2026 disclosure to the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas between them name two of the three charges on a GCash casino transaction, and neither names the third.

This piece is about Philippines and is written for readers there. Rules, ages and licence classes differ by country and nothing here transfers to another one.

What GCash charges to put money in

GCash lists two ways to fund a wallet before a deposit: cashing in over the counter, and cashing in from a linked bank account. The two routes are priced by different parties, and only one fee actually belongs to the wallet itself.

Over-the-counter cash-in through GCash's own partner network is free up to ₱8,000 a month. Anything above that costs 2%, and the free allowance resets on the first day of the following month, per the wallet's own published cash-in fee schedule.

The bank-linked route runs on a different rule. Cashing in through a linked BPI or UnionBank account carries no fee at all, which is why GCash tells its own users to link one of the two.

Every other bank sets its own transfer charge, up to ₱50 per transaction, and that fifty pesos belongs to the sending bank, not to GCash. InstaPay Cash In, the mechanism behind the linked-account route, caps each transfer at ₱50,000, so a larger session needs more than one transfer regardless of which bank sits behind the button.

So the first fee a reader hits rarely comes from GCash at all. It comes from a bank most fee comparisons never name. Not from GCash.

What GCash charges to move it back out

Sending money out of GCash to a bank is where the wallet's own tariff applies, and the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas has now published the number itself. A disclosure table dated 31 July 2026, extracted 12 August 2026, lists G-Xchange, Incorporated, GCash's registered operating name, charging ₱10.00 per InstaPay transfer for both individual and corporate senders. PESONet, the slower batch rail banks use for larger transfers, is marked on the same table as a service the wallet does not offer.

That is a cut. Not the original figure. GCash lowered its InstaPay fee from ₱15 on 4 July 2026, the same week Bangko Sentral Circular No. 1238 took effect, requiring banks and e-money issuers to price digital transfers on a cost basis rather than a flat legacy fee. The regulator's own estimate of the actual interbank switching cost behind one InstaPay transfer is about ₱1.50.

Several of the country's largest banks went further than a cut. Bank of the Philippine Islands, Landbank, UnionBank, Philippine National Bank and BDO eliminated their interbank transfer fees entirely within roughly two weeks of that circular, according to the same disclosure table. Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation took a middle path, waiving fees on a customer's first 30 transfers each month provided each transfer clears at least ₱100.

GCash and Maya both stopped at ten pesos, and the regulator has since asked both companies in public to explain the gap between that figure and its own cost estimate.

The charge with no published rate

A GCash deposit at a casino has a third leg that neither of the first two fee schedules covers: whatever the operator itself adds once the money lands in its cashier. GCash's fee page stops at the wallet's own boundary, and the Bangko Sentral's disclosure table stops at the interbank rail. Neither institution has any reason to publish what happens after that, because the charge, if one exists, is the operator's to disclose and nobody else's.

None of the brand records this project has built so far carry one. Every payment-method entry logged for every operator on this site is still empty of a stated GCash processing fee, and that is not a gap this piece is filling with a guess. PAGCOR does not require a licensed operator to publish a wallet processing fee either, so there is no register a reader can check in its place.

[the operators this record has actually checked for a GCash rail](/casinos/gcash) is where that reading gets published as it happens, and today it states plainly that no casino on this record is confirmed to take GCash deposits in its own cashier or terms. Zero, today. A reader who assumes GCash acceptance from a homepage badge is trusting exactly the kind of claim that page was built to check first.

Why ten pesos is not really the point

None of this makes the ten-peso transfer fee the biggest number in the room. It probably isn't. A bonus's wagering requirement, or an unpublished withdrawal cap, can cost a player far more than any bank charge ever will, and treating a small line-item fee as the story misses that entirely.

But it is also the only one of the three charges in this piece that a reader can verify today, on a table a regulator publishes and dates. The operator's own arithmetic, the one that could genuinely matter more, stays invisible precisely because nothing forces it into the open the way that circular forced GCash's own tariff into a public table. Checking the ten pesos and stopping there is checking the easy number, not the important one.

What to actually check before moving money

Bangko Sentral's disclosure table is dated and public, and any reader can look up their own bank's row the same way this piece looked up GCash's. It updates as banks change their pricing, which several did twice in the two weeks after the July circular alone.

No equivalent table exists yet for what a casino operator adds once GCash's money reaches its cashier. Until an operator publishes one, or this record confirms one directly from a brand's own terms, that third fee stays exactly where it is now: unpublished, unchecked, and the one number in this transaction that nobody outside the operator can see.

Questions this raises

Does GCash charge a fee to cash in for a casino deposit?

It depends on the channel. Over-the-counter cash-in through GCash's own partner network is free up to ₱8,000 a month, with a 2% charge above that. Cashing in through a linked bank account is usually free on BPI and UnionBank, and costs up to ₱50 on other banks, a fee that belongs to the bank, not to GCash.

How much does GCash charge to send money out to a bank?

₱10.00 per InstaPay transfer, for both individual and corporate senders, according to a Bangko Sentral disclosure table dated 31 July 2026. That is down from ₱15 before 4 July 2026.

Why did some banks stop charging InstaPay fees while GCash still charges ten pesos?

Bangko Sentral Circular No. 1238 required cost-based pricing for digital transfers starting 4 July 2026. Several large banks, including Bank of the Philippine Islands, Landbank, UnionBank, Philippine National Bank and BDO, eliminated their interbank fees entirely. GCash and Maya both cut to ₱10 and stopped there, above the regulator's own estimated switching cost of about ₱1.50, and Bangko Sentral has publicly asked both companies to explain the gap.

Does a casino add its own fee on top of GCash's charges?

None has been found published anywhere this run. No brand record on this site carries a stated GCash processing fee, and PAGCOR does not require an operator to disclose one, so a reader cannot currently verify whether an extra charge exists before depositing.

Where can I check GCash's current transfer fee myself?

Bangko Sentral publishes a dated disclosure table of transfer fees across banks and e-money issuers, and GCash's own help center publishes its cash-in fee schedule directly. Both are the primary sources this piece used, rather than a comparison site's summary of either.

Where the figures come from

Not a bibliography — these are the addresses behind the numbers this site stores about the 0 records this piece is about, with the date we read each one. Anything the article argues from that we have not stored as a figure is not in this list, and we would rather say that than pad it.

This piece cites no stored figure, so there is nothing to list here.
